The location of Guesthouse Tzar Asen was very convenient for me. It is close to the National Palace of Culture and the center of the city, offering plenty of things to do. the room I stayed in was quiet, with a large window overlooking a peaceful patio. the house also had a nice green backyard where I could enjoy a coffee in the morning or have a smoke. the TV and air conditioning in the room worked well, and despite some occasional instability, the Wi-Fi was generally okay.
The old man in charge of the place, although not a professional, was friendly and tried his best to communicate in English. Cons: Not obvious to find.

The location of this budget guesthouse is very convenient for exploring the city center, with several nearby restaurants and cafes as mentioned in some reviews. some rooms come with air conditioning and televisions for a comfortable stay. Although some guests have complained about the bathroom, others have noted that it is basic but functional, with hot water available.
Some guests have reported poor maintenance in other areas of the guesthouse, such as uncomfortable beds and pillows or leaking ceilings.

My recent stay at Guesthouse Tzar Asen was surprisingly pleasant. The location was convenient and the price was reasonable. The room I stayed in had a working TV and air conditioning, which were much appreciated. The wi-fi, although a bit unstable at times, was generally satisfactory. Also, the green backyard provided a nice place to relax with a cup of coffee or a cigarette in the morning. Despite some drawbacks mentioned in other reviews, I found the experience here to be tolerable. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay if you're on a budget and not expecting luxury.

Spent New Year's Eve in a guesthouse in Bulgaria. The price was incredibly reasonable, and the accommodation offered a convenient location within walking distance of many attractions. The room was quite spacious and had a private bathroom, which was wonderful. there was complimentary breakfast, so I could start my day well-fed.
Regrettably, there were a few cons to our stay. The guesthouse seemed to be a bit aged, so it lacked some amenities, including a reliable wireless connection.

The room at Guesthouse Tzar Asen had a stylish minimalist effect that I absolutely loved. It gave the room a vibrant and modern feel, which made me feel right at home. As a low-budget traveller, this was definitely a delightful surprise!
The only thing I liked less was the TV with cable channels in the room. Personally, I didn't watch much TV during my stay, but I understand that others might still enjoy having that option.

Spent xmas holidays at a nearby guesthouse and we couldn't be happier with the experience! the location was perfect with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. the staff were friendly and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed. the highlight of our stay was the cozy fireplace that kept us warm and toasty during those chilly winter nights. the rooms were spotless and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay.
the Wi-Fi signal was weak and unreliable, which made it difficult to stream videos or work remotely.

I had a fantastic trip to Sofia and stayed at Guesthouse Tzar Asen. The location was perfect for me, with everything central within walking distance. The price was great for a short trip, and I enjoyed the privacy of the solo room. The air conditioning was a major plus, especially during the hot weather. The old man in charge was friendly and accommodating, giving me their biggest room. The TV and air conditioning worked well, and the Wi-Fi, although a little unstable at times, was overall okay. The hotel also had a nice green backyard where I could relax and enjoy my coffee or smoke.
I recommend this hotel.
